These gifts, given to me with no attachment
When we reach out and weave ourselves into a place... the people of that place reach back...
Generosity is contagious.
Gifting invites a giving back. But little of it is in direct, linear exchanges…it’s far more subtle, surprising, random and beautiful than that.
Here’s a photo essay of things gifted to me by people in my community over recent years… (and these are just the things that a) I remembered to photograph and b) I could find with a cursory, ten minute search of my photo library.)
Seeds from Keila and Kirsty, Keila’s sweet chilli sauce.
Sonya’s delicious chilli jam.
A beautiful box of produce from Bev’s farm.
Laura’s preserves.
Fruit from Bridge and Jim’s farm.
Plums from Bev’s orchard.
Chokos, bitter melons and chillies from Su’s greenhouse.
Cheleigh’s heirloom tomatoes.
Vegetables from K’s garden, to thank me for watering it while she was away.
Kushla’s green tomato relish.
Bounty for the eyes as much as the puku, from Bev (again!)
